Field Operations Manager - Portland, ME

VIP Petcare is a fast paced, innovative company looking for honest, professional team members who have a passion for pets and the people who love them. We provide a wide variety of preventative pet care services through our community clinics. 

We are currently looking for a Field Operations Manager to be responsible for all aspects of branch operations at the district office. This is an exempt, full-time position that includes working weekends with flexible days off during the week.  

Description/Essential Functions:

  • Management of all branch operational issues to include administrative, facilities, and inventory
  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with host location staff and animal outreach groups within the district
  • Communicate regularly with Regional Director to ensure consistency in how services are being provided to our clients and that operational SOPs are being executed
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, disciplining and evaluating location’s staff
  • Communicate marketing programs to the staff and ensure that marketing materials are printed for use
  • Travel to Corporate headquarters in Windsor, CA to participate in training initiatives pertaining to branch locations
  • Manage Rig when necessary at VIP Petcare weekend clinics
  • Other duties or functions as requested

Knowledge:

  • Basic Human Resources principles
  • Basic Accounting/Math principals

  • Project management practice

Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Post secondary degree in business administration, management or operations preferred but not required

Experience:  

  • Industry relevant experience
  • Minimum of three years experience in a managerial role or combination of experience which would lend itself to broad exposure of operational functions

Environment and Physical:

  • ​Sit for prolonged periods of time in an office or in a motor vehicle
  • Bend/Stoop/Twist 30% of the time
  • Lift up to 150 pounds assisted
  • Prolonged periods of time utilizing a computer
  • Stand/Walk/Move about for prolonged periods of time while out in the field
  • Schedule includes weekends with an occasional overnight

Licenses/Certification:

  • Valid Drivers License
